Christmas, Here I come!

Christmas is just a few short months away, so now is the best time to start getting ready.   I did just that.  The new Stampin’ Up! 2015 Holiday catalog is here (sales period begins Sept. 1st) but as a demo, I have been able to order from that catalog already.   This catalog is filled with so many new and exciting things that will make a stamper’s heart go pitter-patter!   And, yes, I do offer Gift Certificates 🙂   SPOILER ALERT:  The catalog is also filled with some pretty nostalgic items too that will take you back to Christmases of long ago.
Our Annual Catalog has some pretty nice Christmas stamps & papers too.  Today’s project features the “Lots of Joy” stamp set, “Merry Moments DSP” from the annual catalog and the coordinating Tree Punch.

Lots of JoyWhisper White card stock formed the foundation for my card.  A piece of plaid DSP cut 1/4″ smaller created the background.   I used my Oval framelits and cut 2 ovals; the larger from Mossy Meadow card stock, the smaller in Old Olive  card stock.    I punch a Mossy Meadow tree (TIP:  To save paper, I punched this out of the center of the oval I just  made – the lighter oval will cover it and no one will know!)

Then I stamped the plaid tree in Old Olive ink on Whisper White and punched that out and adhered on top of, but offset from the solid tree.

Cherry Cobbler ink was used for the sentiment and the 1-3/4″ and 2″ circle punches cropped the circles which I layered together and offset at the bottom of the oval.  A few stars in Gold Glimmer Paper were cropped using the star die from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits set added some sparkle.  The plaid tree was finished off with a bow tied from the new Gold Cording Trim which will be available Sept. 1st.

Don’t you just love the plaid tree in this stamp set?  I do.   It reminds me of a Charlie Brown Christmas and I am looking forward to stamping this tree in some funky colors like Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo and the like!

I took my color palette from the colors in the Merry Moments DSP.  Here is another card I made using the same layout but I switched out the DSP in the background.  IMG_5467 A whole different feel just by changing the paper.

And the best part of this card;  after I made it I realized it fit the requirements for the Merry Monday Christmas card challenge:Merry Monday Christmas 169It’s been a while since I played along and I’m really glad to take part this week.  Hop over to the challenge to find inspiration from other crafters as you look forward to getting started with your own Christmas cards.

Listed below are the supplies I used for my card.  You can order any of these items by shopping my online store, or by clicking the item below.

If you need a 2015 Holiday Catalog, and you are my customer, or don’t currently have a demo and wish to choose me as your demonstrator, request your Holiday catalog here.  If you already have a relationship with another demonstrator, please be respectful and contact him or her for a catalog.

Thanks for stopping by My Stampin’ Space.  Please know that I love when you stop by and leave me a comment.  I also appreciate when you order from me very much!  I have set some sales goals for myself and and just a few dollars away from my goal for the month.  I would certainly appreciate if you could help me reach that goal by shopping with me today.  (You know you want more stamps anyway!)  And you’ll be helping me in the process!  Thanks!

Penguin Party

When I saw the theme for the Merry Monday Christmas challenge, I just had to participate!

I had snow much fun creating these little punch art penguins on this card I made last winter that I just had to do a ‘remember when’ post!

Punch Art PenguinThe Owl Builder Punch is used to create these darling penguins, and dazzling diamonds paper gave them the snowy hills to play on!  I don’t make a lot of cute & whimsy cards, but these little cards were so much fun, I may just be making more soon.

I’ll be putting together a step-by-step tutorial so you can make these little darlings too.  Stop back for those instructions.

Nancy

Don’t forget to shop the Weekly Deals today, either.

You’ll be seeing stars!

Stampin’ Up! has done it again!  They seemed to have hit it out of the ballpark with the new Holiday Supplement catalog.20141020TH_HolidaySupplement_en-US

My first thoughts, quite honestly, were “A holiday supplement catalog?”  Really, I haven’t even gotten everything from the main holiday catalog that I wanted yet.   What more could they come up with to produce a supplement to the holiday catalog?”

But the Many Merry Stars Simply Created Kit (#138104 $25.95) is a knock-out!  It is a kit that gives you ALL the material you need to create 26 3-D stars, plus all the embellishments you need to jazz them up!  There is one star that is 15″ diameter (that’s one big star!) and you’ll make 5 each of 5 sizes ranging from 2″-6″.   Look at all the possibilities:

Many Merry Stars Simply Created Kit  Many Merry Stars Simply Created Kit Many Merry Stars Simply Created KitMany Merry Stars Simply Created Kit

When I showed the ladies in my class last night and asked if anyone was interested in purchasing the kits and assembling them as a group, the screams of “YES!”, “YES!”, “YES!” was almost deafening!   If you’d like to join us, we will be meeting on Monday, Nov. 3rd at 6:00 PM at Walden Pond Therapy Center in Moosic, PA.  Just order a kit using this link  (and please use host code MY2GZETU) and bring your kit and come join us!   Can’t make it?  That’s ok, just order your kit and gather a friend, or find some alone time, and get creative.  Watch these videos to see how easy it is to assemble this kit.

That’s not the only thing in the 2014 Holiday Supplement Catalog.  Here’s a quick rundown:  Click on any item to see that item in full detail.

Everything in the Holiday Supplement is only available on a ‘while supplies last’ basis.  I expect a sell out of the Many Merry Stars Simply Created Kit, so order yours today before it’s too late!.
Don’t forget to check out our weekly deals while you’re at it:

My Take on #155

I needed to make a project for a workshop and I knew I wanted to use Endless Wishes.  I wanted it to be simple, yet ‘stepped up’ a bit.  As soon as I saw the sketch for this week’s Freshly Make Sketch Challenge, I had my layout!  I love it when things just come together like that!

Here’s the sketch:

And here is my card:Paper Players # 155

I love the simplicity of the snowflakes in this set; the blues & silver just beg to be used.  I used Soft Sky cardstock and a strip of Island Indigo cardstock on the base.  The tag was cropped & shaped using the Scallop Top tag punch.  I used Soft Sky ink to create the tone-on-tone effect on the Soft Sky cardstock.   I love all the possibilities of the sentiments and the font style in the set too.  The snowflakes & silver sequin from the Frosted Sequins are the perfect embellishment and give it just the right amount of bling.  Soft Sky & Island Indigo ink create the snowflakes on the focal point and Silver Metallic ink is reserved for the sentiment.

And, by the way, the ladies at my workshop loved it too!

Don’t forget:  You can stamp with me too, regardless of where you live or your hectic schedule.  My Virtual Stamp Club begins in a few short days.  Click here to find out more and to sign up.

Thanks for stopping by My Stampin’ Space.  I hope you enjoyed todays post.  And I hope to see you in my Virtual Stamp Club soon!

Virtual Stamp Club Now Forming!

Festival of TreesWhen I posted this picture on a facebook group I belong to, the response was overwhelming!  Due to the many requests I had for instructions on how to make this card, I am pleased to announce that I am now offering a VIRTUAL STAMP CLUB!   This card will be one of the projects we make in the first VIRTUAL STAMP CLUB in October 2014.

I’ve had many requests from people asking what a VIRTUAL STAMP CLUB is, how it works, and, how to join.

I’ve made a video answering all of those questions and I’m sharing that video here.    And I’m sharing that with you, my blog followers and mailing list subscribers first.

I hope that you will join me in my Virtual Stamp Club.   Besides papercrafting, I  love teaching people how to rubber stamp!  The Virtual Stamp Club will allow me the opportunity to stamp with so many more people; geography will no longer be a barrier!  Here’s to stampin’ together!

September Pals Blog Hop

Welcome to the September Pals Blog Hop. This month we are showing off our favorite new products from the new Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog. We hope you enjoy our projects!

You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Beth McCullough at Stamping Mom #26 on the Pals Hop. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

OK, I have to admit, when I first saw the Holiday Catalog,  there were SO MANY that went straight to the top of my MUST HAVE LIST!   I actually had my wish list by page #, rather than item because I knew I needed page 5, and page 41 for example.  And even though I did end up ordering more stamp sets than I planned on, I have actually used them all, and love each & everyone!  (And I have more on the way!  – I just had to have some more stamps & framelits that I didn’t get on the first order!)   But the set I chose to share with you today is Festival of Trees and the coordinating Tree punch (of course, this is a bundle so you’ll save 15% when you purchase them together).

IMG_3823[1]

I used the Trim the Tree DSP Paper Stack to provide the plaid patterned panel behind the focal point.   (I’m loving the Paper Stacks, I’m finding them to be more economical and more user-friendly than our 12×12 pkgs of DSP).

The images in the Festival of Trees are so simple & cute, but I really like the sentiment too.  It’s one of the ‘inside-out” sentiments as I like to call them.  It’s a great way to add a sentiment on the face of the card, and on the inside too.

Here’s the inside:  IMG_3824See what I mean about the sentiment?  A Merry Little Wish…For Lots of Joy at Christmas.  I know so many of you want stamps with a verse for the front and for the inside, so here it is.  And with 5 different trees, the star, the bird, the tinsel, the flower pot, the Festival of Trees stamp set has so much to deliver, esp. for only $15.95.  Bundle it with the coordinating Tree Punch and it’s only $27.95
I used the Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits to cut out the piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock behind the tree.

I hope you enjoyed my simple, little project!  It was so fun to make, and I know I’ll be making alot of cards with the set in the next few months.

If you would like to order any of the products used, or anything else from Stampin’ Up!, you can click here or on the pics of each item below.

I Believe!

I Believe in Santa ClauseI love this card!  This is not my original; it is my version of a card I saw on Pinterest.  I wish I knew where I first saw it and/or who first designed this so I could give credit where credit is due.  I’ve actually seen several versions of this.

To create the card, I started with  card base from Real Red cardstock.  I cut the beard from the Apothecary Accents framelits die.  The belt is a piece of Basic Black card stock.  The belt buckle is a square of Silver Glimmer paper; I cut 2 slits and slipped the black card stock thru.  A small circle punch and a silver brad make the buttons.  The sentiment is from a retired stamp set but the sentiment is just perfect for this occasion, don’t you think?

Let me know what you think of this card.  Have you seen this design before?  Have you attempted to re-create this card yourself?

And what did I do with the inside of this card?  2013-12-08 20.27.01

I use a plain sheet of copy paper cut slightly smaller than the inside and glue it just along the top edge.  A little coordinating stamp from Embellished Events finishes off this card.

Quick & easy for you to recreate this card for the last minute cards you need to make.

Happy Stampin!

Avoid the Frenzy – Start Planning for the Holidays Now

Every year, I think I am going to start my planning for the holiday season early to avoid the frenzied chaos I usually wind up in, but my good intentions don’t always pan out.  My problem is, I don’t have a PLAN for my planning; no way of organizing what I’m planning in my head. I write things down (sometimes) but then I can’t find my notes. I cut out a recipe, but don’t remember where I put it. Sound familiar?

But this year, Stampin’ Up! has my back. They’ve actually given me a plan for my planning, an organizer for my organizing.

If my story sounds like yours, then we both need The Season of Style This & THAT journal. Watch the video below to see how this will organize your holiday season so you can keep it all together this year.

August Pals Blog Hop

This month’s blog hop will showcase new products from the 2013 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog. We hope you enjoy seeing how we use the new stamps, new punches and other accessories!

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

“Merry Little Christmas” (#131826-wood, #131829-clear) was a stamp set that went straight to the top of my wish list my first trip thru the 2013 Holiday Catalog.  Why?  Because it’s part of a bundle!  Anytime I see a product bundle, I know that A)  the products will coordinate well together, and B) I’ll save money!

This catalog is full of kits, great for the busy crafter!  This stamp set comes bundled with a card kit for easy card-making without a lot of fuss and includes everything except ink & adhesives (basic supplies you probably have on hand).

For this card, I used a gray, red & green color combo.  There’s a layer of Smoky Slate card stock, then a layer of Real Red followed by a piece of DSP  (retired – I am bound & determined to use as much of my retired DSP as I can!)  .  The image is stamped in Real Red onto Whisper White cardstock.  I then stamped the image again on Whisper White using Gumball Green and snipped out the ‘little’ banner using my paper snips and popped it up on stampin dimensional.  The little bit of grey behind it offset gives it some flair.  The finishing touch is the Gumball Green ribbon.

The next item I had to have were the Expressions Thinlits Dies #132171.  I loved the font and the size of each word.  IMG_2601Check out the spread on pages 10-11 in the catalog for some great ideas with this die.

These two cards were whipped out in minutes!  (Thanks to the Pals for the great tip about using wax paper to help get the cardstock out of the die! – No thanks to my family for leaving an empty roll in the wax paper box in my cabinet and not letting me know we were out!  – But that’s a different story!)

Red Glimmer Paper and Silver Glimmer Paper and punches created the designs.  (The Mosaic Madness punch and a line of mini pearls makes a great ornament, don’t you think?)  Need a quick card that you can mass produce but doesn’t cut corners on cuteness?  These thinlits will get the job done for you!  Another reason I like this set – it spans 3 holidays.  Plus I could see using the Love sentiment for more than just Valentine’s Day.

November Pals Blog Hop

We’re so glad you could join us for this month’s Pals Winter Wishes Blog Hop! We hope you have your holiday wish list ready because today the Stampin’ Pretty Pals are sharing some fabulous cards and projects showcasing our must have wish list items!

You’ve probably hopped over from Dawn Tidd at Tiddbits From Dawn, I’m stop number 14 on the Pals Hop and I’m glad you hopped in! I’ll help you “hop along” from blog to blog where you’ll find great ideas for Stampin’ Up! products from the Stampin’ Pretty Pals! Should you hop off course, simply click on any of the links in the Pals Hop Line-up below and you’ll be back on track.

I think the #1 staple in any crafter’s supply is a quality paper trimmer.  Stampin’ Up! hit a homerun with the introduction of their new paper cutter.  If you have any paper crafters on your holiday shopping list, make them happy, happy with a Stampin Trimmer

But, my favorite thing about Stampin’ Up! is their product coordination I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE when we have a stamp set and a coordinating punch or dies.  The Scentsation Season Bundle fills that bill.   Sets like this go straight to the top of my wish list because of their ease of making great looking cards without a lot of work.  Stamp, crank, ta-DA!  It just doesn’t get any easier than that.

What’s more comforting & welcoming on a cold winter day than a cup of hot cocoa and cookies?  My card was designed to be a table (a piece of retired DSP in a woodgrain pattern created that wooden table edge) with a tablecloth (thanks to the Paper Doily Sizzlit) inviting you to come & warm up with hot cocoa & cookies.

The Scentsational Season stamp set includes an adorable mug of cocoa, steam, gingerbread cookies, and a candy cane, Christmas tree & a star.  The Coordinating Framelits dies makes cutting those shapes a breeze.  Check back here later in the week, I’ll be posting some real simple cards made with this set to give you inspiration for other things to do with this set.  A shout-out to pal Ann Schach for her trick to cut a slit in the cocoa and slip the steam inside the cocoa!

I used a blender pen to remove the red ink from the cocoa mug and a Stampin’ Write marker in Chocolate Chip to color in the cocoa.  I also used colored sharpies to color the pearls to dress up our little gingerbread men!

I hope you were inspired to add a coordinating stamp set & dies to your wish list and/or the Stampin’ Trimmer to your wish list, or to your shopping list for a crafter in your life!  Thanks for stopping into My Stampin’ Space and hanging out with me.  Come back again.

Before you hop along, I’d like to give a big THANK YOU to our pal Nicole Watt for the fantastic job she did on creating our Blog Hop badge & buttons.  One of the must haves that should be on everyone’s wish list is MDS2!  Nicole used the Snow Festival Countdown Template (128136), which is part of the Remember December Collection Disc (129836). She used the recolor tool on the lights and stockings embellishments to customize the look. Want to learn more about MDS2?  Email me.

Now hop along for more inspiring ideas from Angela Curry at Kindred Stampers, stop number 15 on the Pals Winter Wishes Blog Hop! Thanks for “hopping” by!
