If you read my blog regularly, then you’ll know that I had my first stamp class in a long while on Monday night. It was SO GOOD to stamp you again! I’ve missed it. I’m glad to be back 🙂
Yesterday I shared one of the two projects we made in my Monday night class. If you missed that post, you can see it here.
This is the second project we made: I’ve been seeing these little milk cartons a lot lately on my Pals Facebook Groups, and while I did not come up with the idea, or the measurements, to make this, I wanted to share it with my class. Of course, we filled ours with candy! What would Halloween, or a Stamp Class be without chocolate?
The side view shows the fold that creates the milk carton look.
I made another one; just a tad taller, to perfectly fit the scene from the new Halloween Night Specialty DSP.
I love how the sentiments from Spooky Fun combine with the Halloween Night Enamel Dots to create the perfect little message panel.
The perfect way to close up these milk cartons is with the 1/8″ Circle Punch and the Coordinating Halloween Night Baker’s Twine. But as you can see, my cartons are conspicuously missing this Twine. That’s because someoneforgot to order it!!! How can I be so foolish, you ask? Well lets just say that sometimes the best lessons are learned from the mistakes we make. So please learn from my mistake: when you order a Product Suite, make sure you order everything in that suite; especially when the item is on your wish list! You’re welcome!
I wrote up instructions on how to make these cute little boxes, along with a diagram, for the ladies who attended my class last night. And I’ll share those instructions with anyone who orders from my online store and uses HOST CODE 9QWR7K6M(if your order totals $150 or greater, before tax & shipping – do not use the host code but redeem the Stampin’ Rewards for yourself!) This Host Code will expire at midnight on 9/14 so don’t wait! Just email me to let me know you’ve placed your order and I’ll email the file to you! Easy Peasy!
I hope you enjoyed these projects as much as the ladies last night. What a fun way to send in treats to your childrens’ or grandchildren’s class, or for your own co-workers. You can even give out treats to all the kids in the neighborhood in these little boxes on Halloween night! You can decorate the boxes for any occasion; maybe even a baby shower, just by changing up the color, paper pattern & sentiment.
When ordering, don’t forget to shop the newly stocked Clearance Rack and our weekly Special Offers to for great savings! And please remember to use HOST CODE 9QWR7K6M.
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you were inspired by what you saw here today. Please leave me a comment; I love to hear from you. Now go create something fun! Creative time is therapy 🙂
This past weekend, I finally got to play with some of new goodies from the holiday catalog! It took me long enough, but I sure did have lots of fun! What’s all the fun about? Halloween Night – the new product suite from the 2016 Holiday catalog. If you know me, you know how I love product coordination and all of the stamps and dies and accessories in this product suite play so well together!
First, I just had to play with my Halloween scenes Edgelit dies. This is what I made:
Isn’t this so much fun? I just love these dies. And they pair so well with our new Foam Adhesive Strips (#141825). They are strips of stampin’ dimensionals and I used them to prop up the fence layer to create that look of dimension between the fence and tree layer.
Notice the little bow? It’s the new Kraft Rope Trim. I love this because it so thick. It is actually 3 strands braided together; I separated the 3 strands and used just one!
I had a class tonight and the ladies in my class really loved this set and making this card too!
We made another project too, but you’ll have to come back tomorrow to see that project!
In the meantime, if you want to order any of the Halloween stamps and dies I used, click here to shop the new Holiday Catalog.
Don’t forget about our Special Sale either. Click here to shop our Special Sale.
BONUS: Stampin’ Up! has just loaded many new items into the Clearance Rack. Click here to shop the Clearance Rack for the last chance to get some of your favorite retired product before its’ gone for good. If you are going to place an order with me, and it will be less than $150, please use the HOST CODE 9QWR7K6M. Thanks!
Thanks for your support, and for shopping with me. I apppreciate this so much.!

Yesterday I shared a photo of something that inspired me to make a cute little Frankenstein-styled card. Today, I want to share another project with you. This was made by one of Stampin’ UP!’s Artisan Design Team. (You can see the original blog post here).I just absolutely LOVE the color combination! Tradition says we should pair Orange & Black for Halloween. Maybe throwing in a splash of green or purple is in order, but no orange? Just black & green? YES, it works! And works wonderfully. Yes, I loved this so much I wanted to copy it for myself! But I didn’t have the WICKED sentiment, or the Owl from the Howl-o-ween Treat stamp set but that wasn’t going to stop me! I did have the Spider Web Doilies and my trusty Owl Builder Punch, Basic Black & Cucumber Crush card stock and Cucumber Crush Dotted Lace Trim Ribbon. Here’s what I came up with:
I wanted to make something to hold a full size Hershey Bar. So my Pillow Box Thinlits die would come to the rescue. To make it work, I had to do some finagling. (That’s a very technical term which means I alter it to fit what I needed!) I actually cut a black pillow box part in half, spread the two pieces apart, and use the green piece to ‘bridge the gap’ to create the length I needed.
My sister is just going to LOVE this when it arrives in her mailbox. She loves Hershey bars and she enjoys getting little treats in the mail from me too. But, shhh, don’t tell her it’s for her. I want it to be a surprise!
Look for opportunities all around you to inspire you in your paper crafting projects. Look for color combinations in clothing, patterns in home decor. You’ll be surprised at what you’ll see when you look at things with a discerning eye.
Just look outside, all the beautiful fall colors are inspiring too. What will you make? I hope you make something absolutely inspiring!
Sometimes inspiration comes from the most unexpected places. I often find things in daily life that remind me of a Stampin’ UP! color, or stamp set, or DSP pattern. Sometimes it’s a project that just begs for you to recreate it, giving it your own touch, or tweeking it to use whatever stamps, papers, ribbons you have on hand. This picture came to me in an email from Michaels, the craft store.
When I saw this, my first thought was “I can make this into a card!”. And I did. Here’s my card version:
What do you think? Can you guess how I made this? It is so simple; I started with a Cucumber Crisp 4″ x 4″ card base. I used scraps of black cardstock to cut strips for the eyebrows and scar. I used the Owl Builder Punch to create the eyes. And for the smile? I used the Balloon Framelits! It was the first ‘thing’ I saw when I looked at the door wrap in the advertisement above.
I made this with the ladies in my stamp club a few days ago and they loved it. Quick, easy and super cute. Who wouldn’t love to receive this card? My mind is now thinking; what if I made a Mini Treat Bag from our thinlits, or a baker’s box, or gift bag from Cucumber Crisp cardstock and decorated that? So many possibilities.
I hope you go into your craft room right now and make YOUR version of Frankie; whether on a card or a gift package. Then leave me a comment and tell me what you made.
Stop back to see how I adapted a project that inspired me.
In the meantime, remember Saturday, Oct. 10th is the last day to order your Paper Pumpkin for October. For every box ordered in October, Stampin’ Up! will donate $1 to BCRF and $2 for every NEW SUBSCRIBER!. Click here to order yours today.

It’s finally here; the 2015 Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog is here! Click on the catalog cover below to view the catalog.
Stamp sets, papers, & framelits, oh my! Where to start?
My advice: bundles are always a great place to start, and to save. Make a wish list, go thru the catalog again, add to wish list. Go thru catalog a third time, prioritize wish list (I make an A, B, C wish list).
You can begin ordering today right here. You can view the catalog here, or on the sidebar. Do you want a paper catalog to have in your hands? If you are my customer, or would like to be, I’ll be happy to send you a catalog. If you already have a relationship with a demonstrator, I respectfully ask that you request a catalog from him/her.
Is you wish list now bigger than your budget? Do you want it all? Consider using the starter kit to fill your wish list. Choose $125 worth of merchandise for only $99 (and it ships free!)which is like a 30% discount. And that’s just to start! You’ll receive a 30% discount off your first order (within 45 days) and 20% off all products after that from now until Dec. 31st with no obligation to sell anything, host a party or anything else. Just fill your personal wish list at a discount, get all the perks (like attending OnStage Live in November, a bi-monthly magazine filled with ideas & tips, our private Facebook chat groups, and more!) Click here to get started.
I promised a treat on Halloween and I plan to deliver! One lucky blog reader will take home the Tee-Hee-Hee stamp set, tonight! But first, my most favorite card that I’ve made this Halloween season.
Don’t you just love this? It is made using the same brayered background technique we used for my Snowy Night card featured in the October Virtual Stamp Club. (Which by the way, you can still join my Virtual Stamp Club if you’d like – just click on the link and sign up!)
I started with So Saffron cardstock, and punched a circle from a sticky note to cover up the ‘moon’. I used Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry & Rich Razzleberry inks on my brayer to color the background and create the dark, spooky sky! I removed the sticky note and it looks the moon is glowing against the dark sky. This piece was then adhered to a Basic Black card base. The homes were made using the Holiday Home stamp set and coordinating framelits die. (Yes, another bundle and save!) I used white embossing powder on Basic Black cardstock to get a crisp look. I used Momento Tuxedo Black ink to stamp on the bats, trees, & lamp posts onto my main layer. The ghost was stamped on Whisper White cardstock and my paper snips made cutting out the ghost an easy task so I could tuck him behind the chimney.
Now, what you’ve been waiting for…..the winner! Drumroll please!
#5 – Kim Jones! Congratulations, Kim! Please email me your address so I can get your stamp set out in the mail to you.
If you’d like to order any of the items used to make this card, I’m listing the items below. Just click on the image to go right to my online store where you can order securely 24/7. Your order will be shipped right to your home.
Again, congrats to our winner, Kim Jones! Happy Halloween to all 🙂
Want a cute and quick way to give someone a candy bar this Halloween? This little treat holder is the answer.
It’s adorable, right? And it’s made with only a 6″ x 6″ piece of double sided paper. That means you can get 4 of these out of one 12″ x 12″ piece of DSP! Just fold the paper in half, point to point, then fold the left point over to the right. Fold the right point over, and finally end by bringing the top fold down. It’s that simple. You don’t even need to glue it if you don’t want to. But I do recommend using your bone folder to get sharp creases at every fold. Come back tomorrow and I’ll post a quick video showing you step by step exactly how to make these.
I used the witches cauldron from the Tee-Hee-Hee stamp set to decorate this, but you could use almost any stamp, sentiment & paper combination for whatever occasion you wish. A candy bar is always in season! You could also put movie tickets inside. First I stamped the witches cauldron in Momento Tuxedo Black ink. Then I used my stampin’ buddy and Versamark ink to stamp the sentiment onto the image I just stamped. Wild Wasabi embossing powder makes the sentiment pop on the black ink. A few Rhinestone jewels, colored with a sharpie marker, look like bubbles rising from the creepy potion being brewed! My paper snips make it so easy to fussy-cut the cauldron.
I’m giving away this stamp set; all you have to do is leave me a comment and one lucky winner, randomly chosen, will be the winner! Of course, the winner will have to get back in touch with me to give me their address so I can mail the stamp set to them. I can only ship to the United States, so my apologies to my blog readers from Canada and beyond.
So, leave me a comment at the end of this post. I’ll give my readers until 10 PM Friday night to leave me a comment to enter to win the stamp set giveaway. A winner will be chosen and will have until Tues to claim their prize. Good luck to all who enter! I’ll post the video late Friday night or Saturday afternoon showing how to make these.
I like to give special treats to those special trick or treaters in my life; whether they are in costume or not! (Yes, I mean “my boys”, my co-workers and other family). Of course, you could make a whole bunch of these to hand out to every trick or treater at your door if you really wanted to!
I used the Fry Box die and Basic Gray cardstock to make the box. The image is from the “Merry Everything” stamp set. I love the little dracula, and the little spider behind him. This set has a coordinating punch, Note Tag Punch, which made cropping out the shape a snap. Now, you know how I love the coordinating products. But I love saving money just as much too! And when these two products are bundled together, you save 15%! Bonus!
I love how this fry box can be stuffed with candy. And it holds a pretty decent amount of candy. I’m also planning on making these for Thanksgiving to set at each place setting. I may fill a clear bag with either candy corn , or cookies to put in the box. This little box is so versatile; I could see it filled with nail polish & lip stick for a little girl’s birthday party. Or Legos or Matchbox cars for a little boy. What will you put in yours?
Don’t forget, I’m giving away the Tee-Hee-Hee stamp set on Halloween! All you have to do is leave me a comment. All comments received this week will be entered in to win. I’ll pick a winner on Friday!
And if you’d like to order any of the items I used to make the treat box above, you can click here to go to my store, or click on the picture below.
Today is Monday so it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch challenge! You know that moment when you see something and you instantly know what you want to do? You can just ‘see’ the finished product. That’s how it was when I opened my email and saw the little thumbnail sketch of today’s sketch. Here it is:
What was the first thing I saw? Shoes. Yes, shoes. Specifically witches shoes from the Tee-Hee-Hee stamp set. And I knew my fav Halloween color combo: Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive & Rich Razzleberry would make up the three panels. I immediately envisioned those three pairs of shoes mounted on layers of the same colors and that panel on black. Can you see it so far? In my mind, I saw it immediately. Here it is for you to see.
I played around with several colors of paper, solid color, patterned pattern until I came up with what I thought was just perfect. Solid Old Olive cardstock embossed with the Decorative Dots TIEF. That texture reminded me of ostrich skin leather; exactly what a witch would have her shoes made from, don’t you think? Of course, the ‘ribbon’ had to be the extra thick chunky bakers’ twine in Old Olive. I chose to put the sentiment on the insde; I just love that saying!
Can you read it? “Whether you’re a good witch or a bad witch it’s all about the shoes” Love it!
Please leave me a comment and tell me what you think of my interpretation of this sketch. I love to hear from you and really do cherish each & every comment. And to show you how much I love your comments, I will be giving away the Tee-Hee-Hee photopolymer stamp set that I used to make this card on Friday! Yes, I’ll be sharing some tricks and a treat just for you; my blog readers! But you have to leave me a comment. And come back each day this week. I’ll be sharing Halloween projects all week long. Every comment will be numbered in the order they are received from now until Friday and then I will choose one comment to be the lucky winner. So leave me a comment and win a free stamp set! Cool!
