Thanks, Hubby!

My husband surprised me this past weekend.  Our daughter’s wedding reception was on Saturday.  Friday night my husband told me to pack a bag, that we weren’t coming home after the reception!  He wouldn’t tell me where, but told me we would spending the rest of the weekend alone, together.  He even made arrangements for our son and my mother-in-law to get home from the reception, and for someone to stay with our son for the weekend!

So after the reception, he whisked me off to a beautiful bed and breakfast nestled in the countryside of Northeastern PA, in the beautiful town of Montrose.  Now I may be a wee bit biased here, because the Fieldstone Farms Bed & Breakfast is owned by my husband’s cousin.  But that aside, this place is magnificent!  b-b-with-sign2Nestled on 135 acres, the view out the window was of the barn & horse pastures.  A huge pond was the view from the other side of the house.   Birds were flocking to the feeders (yes, I’m a bird-nerd!).  Squirrels were content at the ground below.  The cats kept watch from the windows.  The home itself is quite impressive with the cherry floors & doors, crafted from trees felled right on the property.  The attention to detail in every area of the home’s construction were evident, as in the decor.

IMG_3371Kim made us an awesome breakfast!  (I always take pictures of food, I don’t know why – maybe it’s just because I love to eat and enjoy food that’s as good to look at as it is to eat!)

If you are in Northeast Pennsylvania and want a great place to stay out in the country, where you can get away from it all, this is the place to be!

I did mail a handmade card to Kim & Frank to thank them for a wonderful stay.  But, as I’m writing this post, I’m thinking that I should make a thank you card for my hubby for such a nice surprise getaway!   Stay tuned, I’ll get to work on that and let you know what I create.

But in the meantime, don’t you think it was just so wonderful of my hubby to make all the arrangements, including care for our son, and so many little details to surprise me with an impromtu weekend getaway?  He’s so like that.  Just one of the many reasons why, even after 25 years, I keep falling in love with him over & over!

Thanks for letting me share a little bit about my hubby with you.  Now go stamp something for someone you love; it’ll brighten their day!

Happy Stampin’,

Nancy
