Cabana Madness

This week is birthday week at the Gleason house!  3 daughters, 1 son-in-law, 8 days!  Whew! My card making  madness was in overdrive!  Boy, does that make me happy!

Soft, cool blue is Jenn’s color; just like the color of her eyes.  Coastal Cabana just shouted “use me for Jenn’s card, use me!”.  And so Coastal Cabana and Whisper White were chosen as the color palette.  Cabana Madness

Mosaic Madness, the new stamp set with a coordinating punch were all calling out to be used.  I love that this stamp set has several different patterns of the same stamp; they work perfectly together but yet are different enough to provide just enough interest.  When a punch can pop out a perfectly cut shape in a single squeeze, I’m a happy camper!  These five shapes were stamped up and punched out in no time.  1 down, 3 to go.  Come back tomorrow for more birthday wishes.

If you want to order any of the products used, just click on the item icon below and you’ll instantly be transported to my on-line store where you can shop safely & securely from the comfort of your home and have your order shipped right to you.  Sounds just as easy as making this card!

June Pals Blog Hop

My project features a new stamp set and 3 of the new In-Colors.  The stamp set, Simply Sketched, is a hostess set and I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it!  I chose to use the “With Heartfelt Sympathy” sentiment because of my need for a sympathy card, but the card would work equally as well with either of the 3 sentiments in the set.

While we talking about love at first sight, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the new 2013-2015 In-Colors.  Many times I have to ‘warm up’ to new colors but not this year.  I actually got to see the new colors before they were released when I attended a Stampin’ Up! Regional Conference in April.  I couldn’t wait to get my hands on these new colors and start creating.  I chose to use Baked Brown Sugar for my base layer; I embossed half of this layer with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.  Pistachio Pudding and Crisp Cantaloupe blend perfectly to create a soft color palette.  I created the flags using the background stamp from “Oh Hello” and the 1″ square punch.  I scored the Crisp Cantaloupe flag using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool to create some texture and dimension.

Today’s the Day!

If you have anxiously been waiting for the arrival of the new annual 2013-2014 Stampin’ Up! catalog, then your wait is over; it’s here!

I’m so thrilled to share this with you; sharing ideas and inspiration is what my whole gig with Stampin’ Up! is all about.

So here are the catalogs for your viewing pleasure:

Just the covers alone are beautiful and inspire me to go create something fun.  But click on either the English or Spanish version, and you’ll have a whole world of inspiration at your fingertips.

On-line ordering will be unavailable until about noon to allow for time to transition over to the new catalog.  But today, you can order from all 3 catalogs; the new 2013-14 Annual Catalog as well as the retiring 2012-13 Annual Catalog and the 2013 Spring Catalog. Check out the links to the retiring catalogs on the right.

I’m going to keep this post short so you can browse the new catalogs.  You can order by clicking here but you’ll have to wait until noon.  Happy Shopping!

My Top 10 Fav’s from the new Catalog

As you should know by now, the new 2013-2014 Annual Catalog is set to make it’s debut Friday, May 31st.  If you are a customer of mine (meaning you have purchased from me in the last year), and need a copy of the new catalog, please contact me.  The catalog will be available to view here on my blog on May 31st.

I have been reading my catalog, making my wish list, re-reading my catalog, editing (ie:  expanding) my wish list, re-reading my catalog, updating my wish list, and so on.  It’s a vicious cycle.  But one I’m glad to do.  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the layout of the new catalog.  Besides a great product line-up; it’s filled with great photography and LOTS of ideas and inspiration – including non-card and non-scrapbook stuff (IE:  Think party and home decor ideas).

The layout of the new catalog is much more user friendly; things are grouped and organized in a way that makes it so much easier to navigate.  You’ll love the new catalog too, I promise.

While I can’t show you pictures (yet) of the new items, I can give you a list of my top 10 favorites.  So here goes:  (drum roll, please!).

1:)   Bundles!  Any time we have items that coordinate together so beautifully together, it just spells good times for me.  But when we bundle those items together, it spells stamping goodness and $ Savings.  Sweet!  My favorite bundle is Chalk Talk – a 6 piece stamp set with a coordinating framelits die set.

2.) Ronald McDonald stamp set – Every year a stamp set is designed for the Ronald McDonald House Charities and money is raised to support this worthwhile charity.  This year the stamp set, Tag It, coordinates with the same framelits dies as the Chalk Talk set.  Super Sweet!

3.)  Wetlands – I don’t what it is about this stamp set; maybe its the masculine appeal, maybe it’s the nature-inspired appeal, maybe its the simple, every day sentiments crafted from beautiful, timeless font styles, or the combination of all of the above, but this stamp set is on the top of my wish list.  Enough said!

4. & 5.)  Off the Grid and Gorgeous Grunge – These stamp sets make me want to break loose from my ‘color within the lines’ mentality and go wild and distressing, in  a good kind of way!

6.)  Mosaic Madness – coordinating stamp set, a  punch, Designer Series Paper, and an embossing folder!  Wow – this is the motherload of coordination!   I’m mad-ly in love with Mosaic Madness!  (And so on trend, I’ve been seeing this Mosaic pattern everywhere – from curtains, to pillows, to stationery, to clothing – you name it, the Mosaic pattern is on it).

7.) Six-sided Sampler:  Another stamp set/punch coordinating duo in another trendy pattern; hexagons.  Need I say more?

8.)  This & That –  A product suite centered around a journal; the possibilities are unlimited:  A mini scrapbook, a life chronicle journal, a kid’s sports career journal, a prayer journal, a get-my-life organized journal – you get the idea.  All with coordinating DSP, washi tape (to stick it all together) stickers, clips and a rotary stamp.

9:)  New Color Refresh and Core’dinations Paper: I couldn’t NOT mention the new color palette when noting that we now will have Core’dinations Paper in EVERY COLOR – including our In-Colors.  (Speaking of In-Colors, did I mention that this years colors are just gorgeous?  Some years, I really need to ‘warm up’ to the new colors, but not this year.  It was love at first sight.)

10.)  Candy Dots – remember the old-fashioned candy dots that come on a cash register receipt type paper strip?   The colorful candy dots lined up so perfectly?  Well, those delicious dots are now adhesive backed and make your embellishing dreams come true.  Throw in Candy Dots Brad Bases and transform these stick-on cuties into brads.  Whets my appetite!

11.)  Chevron Ribbon – another on trend pattern, in ribbon form.  Plan on buying a roll in every color.  Yup, just plan on it.

12.)  Coaster Board – thinner than Chip Board, thicker than Card Stock.  This medium weight sheet stock will be keeping my Big Shot busy this summer.

So there, you have it.  My top twelve favs.  Oh, was my list supposed to be only ten?  Oh well, I threw in a bonus.  Just because I like you.  And because I like so many new products, I couldn’t help myself.  There are more things too, that are on my must-have list, but I didn’t want to turn my top 10 list into a top 20.

So tell me, how does your top 10 (or 12) list compare to mine?  Are there several things that reached the top of  your list and mine?  Did something catch your eye the first trip around the new catty that you just have to have?  Do leave me a comment and let me know what you favorites are from the new catty.

Then get ready.  On-line ordering begins approximately noon on Friday, May 31st.  The new catalog will go live right here on my blog just after midnight so you can stay up all night perusing and making, and editing, your wish list.  Just click on the catalogs to the right. Then click on the Shop Online Now Button on the right.  And you’re in.  Shop to your hearts content.  Order $150 or more in product and earn Stampin’ Rewards dollars.

And remember, this year, there is an overlap period.  On Friday, May 31st you can order from the new 2013-2014 catalog, AND the retiring 2012-2013 catalog AND the retiring 2013 Spring Catalog.  This doesn’t usually happen so take advantage of this occasion.  Order your retiring products and new products together on one order.

Happy Stampin, and happy catalog reading.

See you on Friday!

Nancy

All Dressed Up!

This is a card that we made at our last Stamp Club.  It features new and old products.  A;; Dressed Up!

The stamp set is All Dressed Up and I’m tickled pink that this set and the coordinating framelits dies are being carried over into the new 2013-2014 Catalog.

I love the Baja Breeze Blue, Basic Gray and Whisper White color combination.  If you do too, you need to stock up on Baja Breeze cardstock, ink, accessories, etc. as this color is being retired due to our Color Refresh.

My Big Shot made easy work of cutting out all of the shapes for this card.  I stamped this dress in Baja Breeze ink onto Whisper White cardstock.  The coordinating framelits dies made cropping out this shape a snap!  The dress form was cropped out using Basic Gray cardstock also with the Framelits dies.  The dress fits perfectly on the dress form.

I used the Ovals Framelits dies to create the oval shape and offsetting the oval off of the card base creates an interesting background.

TIP:  I used SNAIL adhesive to glue the oval to the Baja Breeze cardstock layer first and then, using my Stampin’ Trimmer, I sliced off the portion of the oval that was hanging off.

The sentiment, also from the All Dressed Up set was stamped with Basic Gray ink onto the Baja Breeze layer.  This layer was adhered to the Whisper White carstock base and then a Basic Jewels Pearls necklace was added as a final, finishing touch.

New Catalog Sneak Peeks

There are so many exciting new products in the soon-to-be-released 2013/2014 annual catalog but I can’t share them with you, yet!  (Even though it’s so hard for me to keep a secret!)  But there are a few items that I can share, so here goes:

Wood Mount Cases:

When Stampin’ Up! introduced their clear-mount stamps, one of the biggest selling points for me was the packaging.  I LOVE the way the dvd-style cases are all uniform in size, with full size images on the cover of each stamp, and a thumbnail image of each image/sentiment & stamp set name on the spine.  Makes organization a breeze, love it!
Well beginning May 31st, all of our wood-mount stamps will be available in the same size and style of cases.  (Empty cases will be available for you to convert your older stamp sets into the new case style).  Watch the video below to see all the juicy goodness of the new wood mount case.

Another new product that is available NOW is a kit called Bloomin’ Bouquet:   Watch the video below to find out everything you need to know about this product line.

This kit is only available while supplies last so if you love it, grab it now.  Think about getting a few; this kit makes a great gift, both assembled and unassembled. You may want to give it as a fun do-at-home project, for your crafty friends or co-workers or any crafty kids that you know, or create and give the bouquet to someone who needs a pick me up.

Blooming Bouquet Item #134542    $12.95.   Available starting April 29, while supplies last.

Kit contents:

  • 2 sheets of preprinted and precut flowers on 12″ X 12″ cardstock; makes 13 flowers using Pool Party, Gumball Green, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, and Rich Razzleberry
  • 13 Vintage Faceted Buttons
  • 13 green floral wire stems

Adhesive not included. (Glue gun recommended.)

Click on the link above to order yours today!

So tell me what you think of these two new sneak peeks!  Are you anxiously waiting for your new catalog to arrive?  Please leave me a comment; I love hearing from you.

My pre-order is scheduled to be delivered to me on Wednesday.  Count on seeing some more sneak peaks using new stamps, papers and colors.  Stop back into My Stampin’ Space – for sneak peeks and for some more farewells to retiring products.

Until then,

Happy Stampin’

Nancy

The most exciting time of the year is almost here!!!

When Stampin’ Up! rolls out their annual catalog, there are always so many new and exciting products that it is one of the most highly anticipated times of the year.  This happens June 1st of every year.  But this year,  we get our catalogs a day early!  That’s right.  The new annual 2013-2014 catalog will be released May 31st.

Stampin’ Up! has already teased us with a taste of what’s to come by showing us the Color Refresh, and their decision to bring back a few favorite colors from past years, and the introduction of a soft gray shade: Smoky Slate.

As always, in order to make room for the new, some older items will be retired.  Stampin’ UP! will release the Retired Item List on April 24th so you will have time to get those items that you want before they are gone for good. The Retired Item Promotion will run thru June 3rd, but items on a retired list are while supplies last and there are no guarantees.  (Since the Color Refresh announcement, several colors of retiring card stock have already sold out!)

As a demonstrator, I get to order select new product beginning on April 24th.  (That’s my favorite perk!)  I already have my list started; I’ve seen, and fell in love with the new In-Colors that will be introduced with this catalog as well as a few sneak peeks of stamps, tools, paper, and let’s such say “EXCITED” doesn’t quite cover it!   Card stock, ink pads, makers, and ribbon in the 5 new in colors and Smoky Slate will be first on my order.  Getting a discount on my orders helps me stretch my stampin’ dollars farther; getting more items for less money (my 2nd favorite perk of being a demonstrator!).

Would you like to receive the perks of being a demonstrator?  Get new product sneak peeks, a discount on your order, chance to earn free products, receive exclusive paper crafting training across several mediums, meet new friends, and be connected to a virtual community of fellow stampers?   You can join Stampin’ Up!  – signing up now will entitle you to all the perks & benefits now thru Oct. 31st without an obligation to sell the product or hold workshops if you don’t want to, and no penalty to leave.  If you choose to continue to stay on, you can decide to be a ‘hobby’ or ‘business’ demonstrator by sharing as much or little of Stampin’ Up! as you feel comfortable.

Right now, you join for only $99 (plus tax) and receive $155 worth of any current products you choose.  We even pay the shipping for you!  Click here if you are ready to take the plunge into the Stampin’ Up! family.  You’ll never regret all the money you’ll save and the friends you’ll make.  Joining now will entitle you to get the sneak peak into the new annual catalog as well as the Holiday catalog – even if you decide not to stay on.

Baltimore or Bust

Oh my goodness!  I had SUCH A GOOD TIME at the Baltimore Regional Stampin’ Up! event on  Saturday I’m still on a high.  The makes & takes, the WOW demos, the Prize Patrol, the swaps.  It was all good!

I’ve posted some pics on my Facebook page (had trouble posting from the convention center but all the pics are up now) so “LIKE” me on Facebook if you haven’t already.

I’ll be posting pics of the swaps  in the coming days AND I’ll be teaching some of the new techniques I learned during the event.  Why don’t you join me, I have a class scheduled April 25th so if you are nearby, join me.  Or host a workshop of your own.

Our new annual catalog goes live May 31, 2013.  I can’t share with you (yet) all the new products that will be introduced in the new catalog but I can tell you, you won’t want to miss it!  So book a party with now beginning May 31st and be the first one on your block to host a Stampin’ Up! new catalog party!  You’re friends will be green with envy!

I can share the new Color Refresh with you now.  Stock up on your favorite retiring colors before they are gone. Colors that have been announced as retiring will only be available while supplies last.  And Not Quite Navy cardstock has already sold out!

Well off to bed for me; to dream of new colors!  They are dreamy!

Hang On To Your Hats!

I am SO EXCITED to share with you some exciting news hot off the press from Stampin’ Up!  In 2010 Stampin’ Up! totally revamped their color collections and announced at that time that we would ‘tweak’ their color families every 3-5 years to keep the colors fresh and trendy.  This would be in addition to the In Color collections introduced each year.

Well, I’m happy to announce that a new Color Refresh has just been released.  This includes bringing back, or keeping, several In Colors as well as the introduction of a never before seen color, Smoky Slate!   I’m in love with Smoky Slate – we’ve needed a soft shade of light gray and this just fits the bill.  And I’m thrilled that some of my favorite InColors will be hanging around:  I couldn’t stand the thought of losing Pool Party, or Calypso Coral  Island Indigo.  And while I’m sorry that Lucky Limeade didn’t make the list, Pear Pizzazz is coming back, along with Bermuda Bay & Crushed Curry.  In order to make room for these new colors to stick around, something had to give.  The chart below details which colors are moving out of the way to make room for the new:

Now if you are dreaming of colors, and wanting to stock up on your favorite colors before they are gone, Stampin’ Up! is giving you the chance to order your favorite colors (cardstock, ink, ribbon, etc.) and anything you so desire with FREE SHIPPING THIS WEEKEND!

Stampin’ Up! is offering FREE shipping on EVERYTHING April 6-8 (excluding expedited orders)!  That’s right.  There is NO $6.95 shipping minimum or limit on how large or small your order must be.  Free shipping starts: Saturday, April 6, 2013; 12:00 AM (MT).  Online orders must be completed no later than Monday, April 8, 2013 by 11:50 PM (MT)

Start making your wish list now and place your order this weekend!

Sometimes I just don’t play well with others!

Well, this past Thursday was another Pals Paper Arts challenge.  Being a Pal, I have privvy to the sketch & color challenges so give me time to get my entry ready to go.

So I took a look at the color challenge real quick the week before and spent a couple days mulling over the colors in my mind trying to think of what I could make with those colors.  “Rich Razzleberry, Calypso Coral & Crumb Cake weren’t necessary colors I’d put together on my own, so this could be, well, a challenge”,  I thought.  That’s why they call it a Color Challenge!  So I went into My Stampin’ Space, pulled out these colors, and my new “Oh Hello” stamp set and went to work. PPA154

I was so proud of the way this card turned out, all I could say was “Thanks, Pals for putting together  color combo I never would have used on my own.”  Then I proceeded to get my blog post ready to go so I could go live Thursday morning and realized:

Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge # 154

It was supposed to be Raspberry Ripple; not Rich Razzleberry!  DUH!!!  Really?  I had the wrong color combo!  I was so upset with myself that I cancelled my plans to post that card and go back to the drawing board.

Now I could have just recreated that card with the correct color, but the more I looked it, the more I liked it!  So I decided, right or wrong, I was going with my original card.    So this morning I woke up and decided I would post that card anyway.

Please leave me a comment and let me know how YOU like my card!  If you’d like to know how I made this, just ask and I’ll be happy to tell you.  Don’t forget that you can order this “Oh Hello” stamp set, or any other products from my secure online store just by clicking here.  Thanks for stopping by My Stampin’ Space!  Come back again, and Happy Stampin’

Clearly New Stamps Are Here!

Photopolymer Stamps are here!

What is photopolymer you ask?  Watch this video and find out!

We’ve searched long and hard for just the right material to be able to introduce completely clear stamping. And we’ve found it. We’re excited to announce that we now have wood-mount, clear-mount AND photopolymer stamps! The new photopolymer will be an addition to our stamp line and will appeal to all types of stampers. Our top-quality photopolymer has just enough give to create a perfectly stamped image every time and with the introduction of our firm-foam pads, let’s just say they’re meant for each other! Photopolymer stamps will also be unique, fun designs that will inspire you and provide more versatile options you may not see in our traditional wood- and clear-mount stamp options.

What makes them so great?

  • They’re entirely transparent for perfect placement every time!
  • They are durable. The photopolymer material is designed to last.
  • Can you say sticky? (Don’t worry; in a good way.) These stamps stick amazingly well to our clear blocks.
  • They’re age tested. They won’t yellow or cloud up over time.
  • They use FDA, food-safe material. How far can you stretch your stamping creativity?
  • We could go on, but we’ll let you try them for yourself.

They are clearly a great choice.

Thank You, Eleanor

Thank you Eleanor

When the annual catalog for 2012 was released last June, one of the first stamp sets to make it to the top of my ‘must-have’ list was Everything Eleanor.  The swirl/flourish image, the vintage background image, the pretty flowers & bird, the bordered circle image (just right for journaling in a scrapbook), all called my name.  But for some reason, it is one of my most under-used stamp sets too!  I set out to change that this weekend.  With a boatload of thank-you cards that I need to make and send out, this was the first set I turned to, even though it doesn’t have a thank-you sentiment in the set.  For that, I enlisted the help of a new friend, Pretty Petites which I got for FREE from the current Sale-A-Bration catalog along with the coordinating Petite Curly Label Punch which I also got for FREE during Sale-A-Bration.  And they coordinate with the Curly Label Punch for layered goodness.  A simple piece of ribbon and a pearl for finishing touches and I’m all done. My color combination was a monochromatic look starting with Very Vanilla cardstock, Sahara Sand ink for the background swirl, Soft Suede ink to stamp the worn background image and Early Espresso cardstock and ink for the Thank You sentiment.
