A new ‘twist’ on an old favorite!

My Stampin’ Up! order just arrived and I couldn’t wait to dive in and play with my new goodies!  First was the Thick Bakers Twine & Buttons In Color Accessory Pack (which I earned for FREE and you can too!) AND the stack of Designer Series Paper in the 2014-2016 In Colors.  So I knew I would be using these things together!  Don’t you just love the color coordination from Stampin’ Up!  So do I.  It makes it so easy.  I decided to just make a monochromatic card, quick & easy, as I needed 2 cards to mail out.  I ‘recycled’ a card layout I used a few weeks ago for one of my classes and added a new twist by using DSP!

IMG_4768[1]

I started with a piece of Tangelo Twist cardstock, cut to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, scored & folded in half to create a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ card base.  Next I trimmed a piece of Whisper White cardstock to 4″ x 5-1/4″ (just a 1/4″ smaller than my card base).  I used the new Butterflies thinlits die to cut out the butterfly, but I made sure to position the die on white layer exactly centered in the upper two-thirds of the paper as I would be using both the die cut image AND the negative space of the paper it was cut from.

Next I used a piece of coordinating Tangelo Twist DSP to position behind the negative butterfly image on my whisper white layer.  I stamped my sentiment on the lower third in Tangelo Twist ink, tied a piece of Tangelo Twist thick bakers twine around this layer and then I used stampin’ dimensionals to pop this layer onto my card base.  TIP:  I like to do this to add some dimension but it also helps so the thick twine doesn’t leave a lump if I glued it flat to the card base.

Lastly I adhered the butterfly back into the negative space; but I only applied glue to the butterfly body, leaving the wings free to flutter in the wind!  My finishing touch was a Tangelo Twist button on the butterfly!  All this took about 10 minutes flat!

Yeah, I loved this so much, I quick made another card in another In Color, Hello Honey.  You can see these two cards here.  IMG_4767[1]

It really looks great in any color.  Matching cardstock, ink, DSP and embellishments made this card come together so quick & easy!

How great is it that the folks over at Colour Me…! Challenge Blog chose Tangelo Twist and a neutral for this weeks color challenge?  Were they watching me create this card?  Did they like this card so much too that they decided to use this color combo too or it is just a coincidence?  You decide.  I’m not sure, but I do know that I’m entering my card in their challenge.  You can head over to the Colour Me…! blog to check out other projects in this color combo.

Don’t forget you can order these products, and any other Stampin’ Up! products directly from me safely & securely online here.  For every $50 in product purchases, you will earn 1 FREE Sale-A-Bration item.  Will you choose the InColors Accessory Pack like I did or something else?  Leave me a comment with your favorite SAB item.

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better

I love being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator!   There are so many reasons, but it’s always exciting to work with a company that is constantly striving to bring top quality products, exclusive products, and on-trend products to the market.   It makes it exciting!

Couple that with great promotions to bring those products to you at great savings and it all adds up to one great job!   Just when you thought  Sale-A-Bration couldn’t get any better, it did!  Stampin’ Up! has just announced that they are adding 4 new exclusive products to the Sale-A-Bration promotion just for the month of March!  How cool is that?  Really cool, right?  I knew you’d agree.  But I bet your just dying to SEE those new products, right?  Well I won’t make you wait any longer; here they are:

FlyerTH_SAB2_demo_Feb1715_US

And here is the flier you can download, and print out, so you can oogle over these newbies all day long, whereever you go.  I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t mind having all 4 of these new products.

As with all the Sale-A-Bration items, they are FREE with a $50 product order (before shipping & tax).  So with a $200 order, you can get all 4 items.  Maybe now is the time to start filling your wish list.

What is your favorite new product?  Mine is the 2014-2016 In Color Baker’s Twine & Button set, hands down.  Can you say Blackberry Bliss and Hello, Honey?  I will not pass up those colors.

On another note, but keeping with the commitment that Stampin’ Up! has made to bring only the highest quality products to the market, all of the Blendabilities markers, in every color, are unavailable to order at this time.  I  can hear the collective sighs and boos.   I know how much you are loving the Blendabilities line, I am too.   Quality problems have been detected, and rather than ship possibly defective markers, Stampin’ Up! has chosen to ‘turn off ordering’ of these items until the problem can be resolved.  I know this is a bummer, but I’d rather wait for something that is of high quality, than risk receiving a less than perfect product.  I think you would also.

So, please go ahead and order the other products and take advantage of the exclusive offers during Sale-A-Bration.  You can shop online here.

Make sure to check out the Weekly Deals (these change every Tuesday), the New Arrivals and the Clearance Rack too!

Don’t forget, now is also a great time to host a workshop or join Stampin’ Up Email me if you want more information on either of these options.

Please feel free to share this post with your facebook friends, pin, or forward it.  Thanks for being sociable!

Happy Stampin,

Nancy

The February Paper Pumpkin Revealed

I got mine in the mail on Wednesday.  Did you get yours yet?  While I did open the box and take a sneak peak, I didn’t open my set to see what was truly inside.  Until tonight.  Hmm, you didn’t open yours yet?   Spoiler Alert – the video shows all.

How fun is that!  An accordion card.  Who wouldn’t feel extra ‘thanked’ upon receiving that?  Someone do something nice for you lately?  For your Mom who always watches the kids for you.  For your co-worker who helped you on that last project.  For the teller at the bank who always has a smile ready for you?  (Ok, I threw that last one in there because I am a bank teller by day). But seriously, you can probably think of at least half a dozen people who you need to thank for something.  And that’s great, because this kit makes 6 cards!

If you aren’t already receiving your monthly dose of creativity, you can order your Paper Pumpkin here.  And I would suggest the 3-month prepaid subscription as it is on sale and you can save $5 thru March 31st.  It also qualifies you for a free Sale-a-Bration item too!.

header_PP_SAB_demo_ENG^2

Get your Paper Pumpkin your way;  You can choose from a month-to-month auto delivery, or a 1, 3, 6 or 12 month prepaid subscription.   You’ll get a new project kit each month containing everything you need to create a finished project including an exclusive stamp set each month.  You can even ‘gift’ the prepaid subscriptions to someone else.  Click here for all the options.

As a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, you can order past kits and refill kits;  see what’s available here.

And every month, you’ll have access to a video like the one above, showing how to assemble your project.  If you are in the Scranton area, you can join me each month for a Paper Pumpkin Party to assemble our projects together while enjoying a evening out making new friends too!

So what are you waiting for?  Order your Paper Pumpkin kit today!  You’ll be glad you did.  (The Sale price of the 3-month Subscription shown below will show up in the shopping cart!)

First Pals Blog Hop of 2015

Welcome to the first Pals Blog Hop of 2015!  We hope your new year is off to a great creative start. To celebrate the start of a new Stampin’ Up! year, we are showcasing products from our newest catalog this month – the Occasions catalog. You may also see new Sale-a-bration products too. If you don’t know how to earn free Sale-a-bration products – contact your Stampin’ Up! demonstrator to learn more.

You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Becky Volpp at InkBlossomwithBecky. Use the full lineup below to move along from blog to blog so you see all of the new projects.

When I first saw the 2015 Occasions catalog, and Sale-A-Bration catalog, several items went straight to the top of my Must-Have List!  One product suite that really caught my eye was the Chalkboard Paper and Colored Chalk Ink pads on page 25.  The chalkboard technique and fonts are really hot & trendy right now and this just fit that trend.  (If you don’t believe me, just spend 3 minutes n Pinterest!)  The FREE stamp set, Big Day, was the perfect font style & images for the chalkboard technique so it’s kind of like a marriage made in heaven!

I must say that the color isn’t as deep as I hoped it would be, but using a trusty stamp-a-ma-jig, it is possible to double ink to achieve a darker color.  It also doesn’t photograph too well!  It does look much better in person.

Big Day and Chalkboard paperHere’s a closer up view of just the chalkboard portion:

IMG_4539 See what I mean about the images/font being just perfect for the Chalkboard technique?

139109G Big DayAnother item that I knew I just had to have was the Bow Builder Punch.  This is like a mini version of the  Gift Bow Bigz Die.

IMG_4540How adorable is this bow?  It adds just the right finishing touch.  I’ve been making lots of bows lately – you’ll be seeing them on several of the Valentines’ Day cards I have in the works as well as birthday cards.

IMG_4538If you need any of the items I used to create this card, just click on the item name to see it in my online store.  Remember, for every $50 of products that you order, you can choose one Sale-A-Bration item for FREE!  Maybe you’ll choose the Big Day stamp set.

The next stop is Jane Knudsen at www.seejanestamp.com on the Pals Blog Hop! Thanks for visiting and I’ll see you next month.

Lotus Bloom Meets Irresistibly Yours

A Match made in Heaven!   Yesterday I shared with you my favorite paper from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog; a specialty paper called Irresistibly Yours.  You can see that blog post here.

Today, I am sharing with you my favorite stamp set from Sale-A-Bration:  Lotus Bloom.  When Lotus Bloom and Irresistibly Yours went out on a blind date, it was love at first sight and they have been inseparable ever since!

Lotus Bloom is a 3-step stamp.  Yes, 3-step.  That’s not a typo, it is a 3-step; not a 2-step stamp set.   The Lotus flower image is irresistible (probably why it is in love with the paper of the same name!)  on its own, but the font in the sentiments is to die for.  lotus bloomNow let me show you the magic that happens when you stamp all three flower images, one of top of the other.

IMG_4531See the gorgeous depth & detail?   This is actually created from just one color ink; Lost Lagoon.  But by layering the 3 stamps, and stamping off between layers, you can create various shades of the same color.

Now, for the font:  IMG_4528I love when a print and a script are combined.   Excuse me if this is a little blurry; it got distorted trying to zoom in & crop such a small area.

Now when Lotus Bloom and Irresistibly Yours are going steady; this is the result:

IMG_4528Don’t you just love these two together?  They make such a cute couple.  I think I hear wedding bells….   The Irresistibly Yours paper and sponge daubers allow you to create light & dark areas on the paper; it mimics the light and dark areas on the flower.

I bet you didn’t even mind waiting until last to see the final project.  I usually show you the final project first, then zoom in on the details but today I flipped it around.

Want to see more on how to use this 3-step stamp?  Watch the video:

Remember with Sale-A-Bration, every item in that catalog is FREE with a qualifying purchase.   $50 (before tax & shipping) earns you one FREE Sale-A-Bration item, $100 earns you two and so on.  Don’t forget, when you reach $150 in one order; you’ll start to earn host reward dollars too.  So $150 product order gets you 3 FREE Sale-A-Bration AND $25 host reward dollars.  SAB Host RewardsWhether you host a party, or place an order for yourself, or gather orders from yourself & some friends, the Host Reward Dollars are the same.  See the chart for all the details.  You can see how your FREE merchandise really adds up.  No wonder Sale-A-Bration is the most popular promotion of the year.

Click here to shop online now.  Email me if you’d like to host a workshop; whether in person if you are in the Scranton, PA area, or online.

Share this post and video with your friends.  Then leave me your comments on Lotus Blossom.  Do you plan to add this to your stamp collection?

Nancy

Irresistibly Yours

One of my favorite items in the Sale-A-Bration promotion is a specialty paper called Irresistibly Yours.   At first glance it looks like plain white paper, but when you look at it close; you see a tone-on-tone pattern.  But the real beauty comes when you add color.  The pattern is designed to resist ink, so when you add ink, either by spritzing, daubing or sponging, the color reveals the pattern!  It was love at first sight for me.

Irresistibly Yours

Imagine being able to create a patterned paper in any color to match any project!  That is exactly what I did to create this card below.

IMG_4518[1]The color challenge for this weeks Colour Me Color Challenge is Perfect Plum and a neutral.  I needed to make a sympathy card for a special girl and thought Perfect Plum would be cheerful.  I didn’t have any patterned paper in Perfect Plum but with my Irresistibly Yours specialty paper; that didn’t matter.  I had an ink pad and a re-inker in Perfect Plum so I was set.

I simply filled a Stampin’ Spritzer bottle with rubbing alcohol and 12 drops of ink and sprayed the paper.  Using a tissue I rubbed the ink off to reveal the pattern.  Easy peasy!  You get 12 sheets (2 each of 6 patterns) in the package of paper, and the paper is FREE with a qualifying order during Sale-A-Bration!

I also stamped an image on the inside of the card; both the flower, and the inside & outside sentiments are from Bloom With Hope stamp set.

Bloom With Hope Clear Stamp Set by Stampin' Up!   IMG_4517[1]

The sentiment on the front was heat embossed with White embossing powder on Perfect Plum cardstock.  The embellishment is actually an old retired Builder Brad that I pulled from my stash.  There is an Artisan Embellishment kit in the New Occasions catalog that is reminiscent of an old Artisan Embelllishment kit that I pulled this from.

IMG_4516[1]Tip:  When using a dark colored cardstock for my card base, I like to glue a piece of Whisper White paper on the inside for writing.  It gives the inside of the card a polished look too!.  Of course, envelopes need some jazzing up too!  A simple bloom from the same stamp set adorns the outside.

Want to know more about the Irresistibly Yours paper?  Watch this video:

Remember:  During Sale-A-Bration, you get FREE items for every $50 in product you order.  So place your orders in $50 increments for maximum savings.

IE:  I have a customer who orders $35 every month on-line.  A $35 order won’t yield you any free items.  If during each month of Sale-A-Bration (January, February & March) she placed a $35 order; she would spend $105.  If she spent that same money in two orders of $52.50 each she would get 2 FREE Sale-A-Bration items.  So spend smart!

Want to order any of the products I used to create this card? Just click on the item below in this chart to go right to that item in my online store.

Click Here to view the Sale-A-Bration flyer to see all the products you can get for FREE with a qualifying order of $50 (Before tax & shipping)
Click Here to go directly to my online store.
I hope you see the beauty of this awesome paper.  I have already ordered 2 packages of this paper so I’ll have some to hoard keep and some to share!
Please leave me a comment and let me know your favorite item in the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  Did Irresistibly Yours top your list?  Come back tomorrow and I’ll share the other item that tied for my #1 Fav from the Sale-A-Bration catalog!
In the meantime, Happy Stampin’,
Nancy

Free is always “a happy thing”

Happy New Year & Welcome to 2015!   I’m excited about the New Year and the many things I have planned for you, my customers!  (Like MyStampinSpace on Facebook to stay abreast of all the news!)   I’m also really excited about the soon to be released 2015 Occasions Catalog, and it’s counterpart – the Sale-A-Bration catalog!

2015 Occasions Catalog Cover2015 Sale-A-Bration Catalog Cover

When the 2014 Holiday Catalog was introduced, I really thought Stampin’ Up! hit it out of the ball park, but I can honestly say that these new catalogs trump the Holiday Catalog!   It’s amazing how Stampin’ UP! is constantly outdoing themselves! Being a Stampin’ Up! demo, I get to see the new catalogs about one month before they are released to the public, AND order new products at that time too! (I love this perk that comes with being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator!)

I’ve had the new catalogs for a few weeks now, and if you are one of my regular customers, then you should too!  I’ve mailed the Occasion Catalog  to you which you should have received around mid-December.  And I’ll have the catalogs posted on my blog when they go live on Jan. 6th.

But with all the busyness of the holidays, I haven’t had a chance to actually USE any of my new products!  YIKES!!!  Well that had to change.  Earlier this week I carved out some time to clean, and organize My Stampin’ Space.  (It had gotten quite messy, I’m ashamed to admit!)  I bought a couple of storage pieces to help conquer the clutter so I could banish the chaos and create in a clean space.  (My creative side doesn’t function well in a mess).  Stop back tomorrow to take a virtual tour of My Stampin’ Space and glean some organizing tips from me.

My clean space was just calling for me to create something, so I did!

One of the ladies in my stamp club has a birthday coming up so I wanted to make her a birthday card, but, I found out that she is in the hospital!  So I had to make a Get Well Card too!.  I discovered I don’t have any current stamp sets that say “Get Well”.  (That will have to change!)  But in the meantime, I combined some old and new to create this Get Well Card.

IMG_4403[1]This stamp set, “A Happy Thing” is free as part of the Sale-A-Bration promotion.  The stamp set features this lemon, and a bird, and two sentiments.  I couldn’t wait to use the lemon stamp and my Blendabilities and I thought that luscious lemon yellow was so cheerful it would brighten anyone’s day.

Luscious Lemon

Here’s a close-up of the lemon.  I used the Momento Ink in Tuxedo Black, but I stamped it onto a piece of scrap paper, and then stamped my image.  This gave me a much more muted grey shade, rather than the dark, crisp black the Momento Ink produces.  The Blendabilities markers let me create depth by layering highlights and shadows.   This is what makes the lemon look so realistic and not just flat.

Daffodil Delight Seam Binding Ribbon makes the perfect drapey double bow.  Are you loving the paper behind the lemon?  Doesn’t it pair perfectly with the leaves on the lemon stamp?  It’s new too!   It’s called Painted Blooms DSP and let’s just say, you’re going to LOVE it!

Notice my layers?  Because the Daffodil Delight is such a strong bold color, I wanted the layer of Daffodil Delight Cardstock behind the image panel to be very thin so it wouldn’t be overwhelming.  That color is repeated 3 times; on the major element (the lemon), in the ribbon, and on that cardstock layer.  By contrast, the solid Wild Wasabi cardstock layer behind the DSP is alot larger to anchor it to the background.

I know you’ve been checking out how I lined the envelope with the same DSP.  Doesn’t that add such a nice touch?   The Envelope Liner Framelit dies make that a snap to do.

Are you loving this set, yet?  I thought so!  The best part of this stamp set is that it is FREE with a qualifying order.  Every item in the Sale-A-Bration catalog is free with a $50 purchase.  And there is no limit; purchase $100 get 2 items for FREE.  Purchase $150 and get 3 items FREE AND $25 in host dollars to spend anyway you want!  Purchase $200 and get 4 FREE sale-a-bration items AND $30 host dollars to spend.

You can really maximize your purchasing power by letting the Sale-A-Bration and Host Reward Dollars work for you.  If you really want to put your purchasing power on steroids, consider joining Stampin’ Up!  Many demos join Stampin’ Up! to get the 20% discount AND the added perks of seeing & ordering from the new catalogs one month prior to the release date.  If this sounds like something you’d like to explore,  email me.  I’d be happy to set a time where we could chat and see if this would be right for you.

So,  I hope that this new year brings you joy and happiness, and good health!  I hope too that you’ll find lots of time to play with paper & create lots of pretty projects.  If your New Years Resolutions include improving your paper crafting skills, then you’re in luck!  Sign up for my newsletter and stay tuned for some information that will make you a better and more educated stamper in 2015!

You’ll be seeing stars!

Stampin’ Up! has done it again!  They seemed to have hit it out of the ballpark with the new Holiday Supplement catalog.20141020TH_HolidaySupplement_en-US

My first thoughts, quite honestly, were “A holiday supplement catalog?”  Really, I haven’t even gotten everything from the main holiday catalog that I wanted yet.   What more could they come up with to produce a supplement to the holiday catalog?”

But the Many Merry Stars Simply Created Kit (#138104 $25.95) is a knock-out!  It is a kit that gives you ALL the material you need to create 26 3-D stars, plus all the embellishments you need to jazz them up!  There is one star that is 15″ diameter (that’s one big star!) and you’ll make 5 each of 5 sizes ranging from 2″-6″.   Look at all the possibilities:

When I showed the ladies in my class last night and asked if anyone was interested in purchasing the kits and assembling them as a group, the screams of “YES!”, “YES!”, “YES!” was almost deafening!   If you’d like to join us, we will be meeting on Monday, Nov. 3rd at 6:00 PM at Walden Pond Therapy Center in Moosic, PA.  Just order a kit using this link  (and please use host code MY2GZETU) and bring your kit and come join us!   Can’t make it?  That’s ok, just order your kit and gather a friend, or find some alone time, and get creative.  Watch these videos to see how easy it is to assemble this kit.

That’s not the only thing in the 2014 Holiday Supplement Catalog.  Here’s a quick rundown:  Click on any item to see that item in full detail.

Everything in the Holiday Supplement is only available on a ‘while supplies last’ basis.  I expect a sell out of the Many Merry Stars Simply Created Kit, so order yours today before it’s too late!.
Don’t forget to check out our weekly deals while you’re at it:

September Pals Blog Hop

Welcome to the September Pals Blog Hop. This month we are showing off our favorite new products from the new Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog. We hope you enjoy our projects!

You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Beth McCullough at Stamping Mom #26 on the Pals Hop. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

OK, I have to admit, when I first saw the Holiday Catalog,  there were SO MANY that went straight to the top of my MUST HAVE LIST!   I actually had my wish list by page #, rather than item because I knew I needed page 5, and page 41 for example.  And even though I did end up ordering more stamp sets than I planned on, I have actually used them all, and love each & everyone!  (And I have more on the way!  – I just had to have some more stamps & framelits that I didn’t get on the first order!)   But the set I chose to share with you today is Festival of Trees and the coordinating Tree punch (of course, this is a bundle so you’ll save 15% when you purchase them together).

IMG_3823[1]

I used the Trim the Tree DSP Paper Stack to provide the plaid patterned panel behind the focal point.   (I’m loving the Paper Stacks, I’m finding them to be more economical and more user-friendly than our 12×12 pkgs of DSP).

The images in the Festival of Trees are so simple & cute, but I really like the sentiment too.  It’s one of the ‘inside-out” sentiments as I like to call them.  It’s a great way to add a sentiment on the face of the card, and on the inside too.

Here’s the inside:  IMG_3824See what I mean about the sentiment?  A Merry Little Wish…For Lots of Joy at Christmas.  I know so many of you want stamps with a verse for the front and for the inside, so here it is.  And with 5 different trees, the star, the bird, the tinsel, the flower pot, the Festival of Trees stamp set has so much to deliver, esp. for only $15.95.  Bundle it with the coordinating Tree Punch and it’s only $27.95
I used the Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits to cut out the piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock behind the tree.

I hope you enjoyed my simple, little project!  It was so fun to make, and I know I’ll be making alot of cards with the set in the next few months.

If you would like to order any of the products used, or anything else from Stampin’ Up!, you can click here or on the pics of each item below.
