Falling for All Things

Today was the first day that I got to play around with my new stamps, paper & accessories from the soon to be released Holiday Catalog.  The first stamp set I wanted to play with is called “For All Things”.  It reminds me of the Work of Art set because it has a watercolor-ish background stamp.  Because the new Mojo Monday sketch challenge was waiting for me to participate, I decided to use my new stamp set & coordinating DSP to make a card for the Mojo Monday challenge.

IMG_3715 Here is the sketch:

The wonderful, rich colors come from the palette of the new Color Me Autumn Designer Series Paper which will be available Aug. 28th.  The stamp set is the coordinating “For All Things” and the sentiment comes from “Good Greetings”; these too will be available with the Holiday Catalog in a few weeks.

If you’d like to play along with Mojo Monday sketch challenge, or see what others have come up with for the challenge just click on the image above.

If you’d like to order from me, click here.  Don’t forget about our weekly deals or the Big Shot Promotion going on now.

Birthday Wishes

Well, this week I decided to play along with CAS(E) this Sketch.  Participating in color and/or sketch challenges is a great way to stretch your paper crafting skills. ( And it’s also a great foundation if you ever feel your creativity is in a rut as it gives a great starting place!)

When I first saw this sketch, I thought “Hmm.”   I pondered it for a few days and then it came to me.  I knew I needed a masculine birthday card.  The simple color combo of Crumb Cake and Black came to me first.  Then the layout.  All I needed to do now was go down into My Stampin’ Space and find a stamp that would fit inside the circle.  “Endless Birthday Wishes” filled the bill just perfectly!  My answer to the sketch challenge: CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge

I really had fun with this sketch even though it seemed daunting at first!    I settled on gold stars but first tried two other colors for accents. I thought blue, and then thought yellow.   Since my 2014 InColors were already out, I punched a few stars in Lost Lagoon and Hello Honey and tried them on for size.

CAS(E) this sketch - blueCAS(e) this sketch - yellow

While I do like the blue and the yellow, I may have liked a brighter shade of each color, perhaps Marina Mist or Daffodil Delight as I didn’t feel that either color gave enough ‘pop’.  So I finally settled on Gold which I think contrasts nicely with the Crumb Cake & Black combo.

CAS(e) this sketch - gold

So what do YOU think?  Which color do you like the best?  Or would you have an entirely different color?  Please leave me a comment and tell me your thoughts.  Don’t you think this sketch is great for a masculine birthday?

Speaking of birthdays,  I need YOU to help ME celebrate a very important birthday!  I just celebrated a milestone birthday and I’m giving away a birthday gift!  Anyone who places an order with me or thru my on-line store thru Thursday, July 24th will be entered to win a goodie bag filled with a full package of designer series paper, 3 rolls of ribbon and a package of buttons, all in coordinating colors.

Better Get Better, My Friend

Well I just read a post in Facebook that a customer turned friend of mine, is going in the hospital for surgery tomorrow!  So naturally I ran down to My Stampin’ Space to make her a card.

The sketch was inspired by the Mojo Monday sketch challenge and the delicious color combination came from The Paper Players Color Challenge # PP204.

IMG_3596I sure hope that this will brighten the day of my friend while she is recuperating!  I think this lovely color combo will make anyone happy.

This is my time playing with the Paper Players!  I’m excited to participate in their challenge.

I used Lost Lagoon, Blackberry Bliss, and Mossy Meadow (all new colors from Stampin’ Up!’s 2014-16 In-Color collection) and Wisteria Wonder for my color palette.  I used the hostess set “Bloom With Hope” for the flowers which were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored using the blender pens and classic ink.  The sentiment comes from A Dozen Thoughts.  The icing on the cake comes from the Wisteria Wonder Seam Binding Ribbon.  It makes such drapey bows, so feminine!  I love seam binding ribbon and I’m so glad that so many new colors have been added!.

Thanks for stopping by My Stampin’ Space today!  Please feel free to leave me a comment and let me know how you like this card.  If you are inspired to make this card, and need to order any supplies; click here to go to my store, or click on any item below.

Happy Stampin’,

Nancy

New Hues Review: 28 projects to get your creative juices flowing!

Welcome to the July Pals Blog Hop. This month we are featuring a New Hues Review. Let the new Stampin’ Up! In Colors for 2014-16 inspire you – With 28 bloggers participating, we hope you will find great inspiration from our creations!  Let me start by introducing the new colors to you:  Blackberry Bliss, Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow, Hello Honey, and Tangelo Twist.

color collections

You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Nicole Watt at Pixel Maven’s Retreat on the Pals Hop. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

When the new 2014-2016 In-Colors were introduced, I immediately fell in love with Blackberry Bliss.   Paired with Hello, Honey, it became a color combination I reached for over & over again (thanks in part to the new Moonlight DSP Paper stack).

IMG_3452[1] IMG_3453-002

See what I mean about this color combination? And the Moonlight DSP?  Don’t you just love the Blackberry Bliss ribbon as much as I do?  I used the new “Work of Art” stamp set for these cards.

While I really was getting mileage out of these two colors, I had somewhat neglected the other colors.   So I created the next card purposefully to expand my horizons and reach for other colors.  I used Hello, Honey, Tangelo Twist and Lost Lagoon in this card. Ok, so maybe I didn’t reach too far because it still uses Hello Honey as a primary color but at least I did resist the urge to pair it with Blackberry Bliss!   Instead I choose Tangelo Twist with an accent of Lost Lagoon. IMG_3526

This card features heat embossing and emboss resist as well as a watercoloring  technique.  It uses the new “Bloom with Hope” hostess stamp set.  The sentiment comes from “A Dozen Thoughts”.  The flower was heat embossed using Versamark ink and White embossing powder.  My aqua painters were used to create the watercolored background and to color the flower.  The ribbon is Lost Lagoon and I have to tell you how much I love this new 3/8″ Stitched Satin In-Color ribbon;  I have already used an entire roll of Blackberry Bliss Ribbon and Hello Honey Ribbon!  That’s alot of ribbon!  But thank goodness, I can still buy more – oh, don’t worry!   I already have.  I’m on my second roll of each of those colors!

Please let me know what you like about my projects and don’t forget to tell me which of the new colors is your favorite color!   Thanks for stopping by My Stampin’ Space today.  If you want to order these products, or any others, please stop by my on-line and shop securely.   Just click on any hi-lighted item above or click on any item in the table below.  Thanks!

The next stop is Susan Itell at Simple Stampin on the Pals Blog Hop! Thanks for visiting and  I hope to see you next month.

Peace, Love & Cupcakes

My three step-daughters all have their birthdays in June.  So when the new catalog made its’ debut June 1st, I was on the look-out for stamps to make birthday cards.

The card on page 52 using the “Peace, Love & Cupcakes” stamp set just screamed Lisa’s name so that stamp went right to the top of my must-have list.   When I sat down to make her card, I CASE’d the card exactly!  Sometimes you know perfection when you see it!

IMG_3522Isn’t this card just adorable?  I love that the new Sweetheart Punch (page 222) also coordinates with the heat shape in this stamp set.  I also love that the Stampin’ Up! catalogs aren’t just product catalog but are idea & inspiration books too!  Sometimes I get great ideas, or color combinations, layouts, etc. right from the pages of the catalog.  And this new catalog is thru the roof with ideas!

If you want to order this stamp set, the coordinating punch or any other Stampin’ Up! product, you can shop online thru my store here.  If you want a new 2014/15 Catalog, and don’t have a relationship with a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, let me know and I’ll be happy to mail you a catalog of your own.  Just email me and ask for a catalog!

Where do you get your inspiration from?  Leave me a comment and tell me where you find your creative streak.

Thanks for stopping by My Stampin’ Space today, please come back.  I have a few other birthday cards to share with you.

It’s Here!!!!!

Today is the day that we’ve been waiting for!  The new 2014/15 annual Stampin’ UP! catalog makes its’ debut today! Are you as excited as I am?

2014/15 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog

If you have already received your catalog, you’ve probably spent hours pouring over the pages, absorbing every new item, every project, and just loving all the new kits and products lines. If this is the first time you’re seeing the catalog, well then click on the catalog cover and start flipping pages! I’ll wait.

I’m so excited about the Project Life product line. I may finally get a scrapbook finished! And the new dies; especially the French fry & hamburger box dies! Aren’t they to ‘die’ for?

About the new In-Colors for 2014-16? I hWatermarked Photoave to admit, I wasn’t immediately ‘in love’ with these colors, but after seeing them in person and playing with them, I like them more & more. Blackberry Bliss is definitely one of new favorite colors ever! And Hello, Honey…that is going to be my new go-to yellow. In fact, these two colors have become my new favorite color combination – I just can’t stop combining these colors! Thanks too in part from the delicious new paper stack, Moonlight! (order # 133701) It combines some of the new In-Colors in hip, trendy patterns.

I have had the Work of Art stamp set (#134111-w/#134114-c) on page 165 since the catalog premiere and I LOVE IT!   The stamp set I’m most waiting to order? Peace, Love & Cupcakes on page 53 (#134159-w/#134162-c). My 3 step-daughters have their birthdays in June, and I can’t wait to make birthday cards with this set. (And it coordinates with our new Sweetheart Punch, the new full-figured heart punch #133786 – you know how much I love coordinating products!)

Ribbon? So many new ribbons in this catalog. I’ve had the 3/8” Stitched Satin Ribbon in the new In-Colors and it ties such a neat bow; it is sturdy enough to hold it’s shape but is smooth & satiny. But what I’m excited about? All the new colors of seam binding ribbon! 7 new colors along with our returning favorites. Which reminds me, I still have 2 openings in the Seam Binding Ribbon share. What is a ribbon share? It’s a great way to get lots of ribbon in lots of colors without breaking the bank! Click here to see my blog post about the Ribbon Shares. Email me if you’d like to participate in one of my Ribbon Shares. (The new In-Color Ribbon Share and Silver & Gold Ribbon Shares are full, but I have a waiting list for each of these. 4 participants are needed per share so if you’d like to join one of these, I’ll let you know if I fill the share).

So, how about you? I’ve shared some of my favorites, but what are your favorites? What items are at the top of your ‘must-have’ list? Click here to go right to my on-line store and start ordering your favorites. If you have any questions, feel free to email me.

A Flower Garden for Mom

mothers day  Today is Mother’s Day and I made this card for my mother-in-law.  She loves flowers so I thought a trellis with flowers growing upon it would make her smile!  I couldn’t wait to use my Hardwood background stamp.  It looks like a weather piece of wood, especially when stamped in shades of grey.  I used Smokey Slate ink on Smokey Slate cardstock to create a tone-on-tone image.

I had to use the Lattice Bigz die once more before it retires.

The flowers were created using the Petite Petals stamp set & coordinating punch.  (Bundle & Save!  when you purchase these together).  I used Daffodil Delight ink on both Daffodil Delight cardstock and Whisper White and I threw in a few flowers stamped in Hello Honey ink on Hello Honey cardstock.  I just had to use some of the new 2014-2016 In Colors!  A few candy dots became flower centers.  And because there was some grass growing at the bottom of the trellis, I had to use my new fringe scissors too!

The sentiment comes from the Loving Thoughts stamp set which is also retiring.

If you’d like to create a flower garden for your mom, click on any of the underlined product names, or on the shop button to the right and you’ll immediately and magically be transported to my on-line store where you can shop to your heart’s content!

And for all the Moms out there reading this today, there are thoughts of you today too!  Happy Mother’s Mom!

Stamp Happy,

Nancy

FREE SHIPPING & Retirement Party!!!

If you’ve been around the Stampin’ Up! World for any time, you know that the new Annual Catalog makes its’ debut June 1st. (YAY!!!)  The new catalog always brings the anticipation of new products; new stamps, new accessories, new colors.  But,   in order to make way for the new, something old must go (Boo!).  We know for sure the 2012-2014 In-Colors will be saying good-bye! (Think Summer Starfruit, Gumball Green, Raspberry Ripple, Primrose Petals, and Midnight Muse).       So anything in those colors will retire.     We also know that the DSP paper changes every year, as do the hostess only stamp sets.

Where do these products go when they retire?  Like any good American, they retire to Florida!

But who could retire without a proper send-off?  Stampin’ Up! publishes a Retiring List of all Stamps, and accessories well in advance of the new catalog so we have time to stock up on our favorites before they head south.  The RETIRING PRODUCT LISTS have just been published. You’ll be able to order a selection of Project Life products starting May 1! And with the launch of our new annual catalog on June 2, you’ll be able to buy from our complete line of Project Life products.

Can’t wait that long? Stampin’ Up! demonstrators will be able to order the limited selection starting April 21. So if you’re a demonstrator make sure to check the demonstrator website that day; if you’re not a demonstrator, sign up and you can order the products early too!

How many unfinished scrapbook projects do you have right now?  I know I have several, including the first scrapbook I ever attempted.  A Bermuda Cruise to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary!  (We just celebrated our 25th! – that tells you how long its’ been since I started that scrapbook -still not done!)  Oh, and don’t worry, there are plenty of other scrapbooks that I’ve started, but none that are finished.

Why do I procrastinate?  Probably the same reason you do.  It takes too much time to get a page done, then I need all of my pages to coordinate.  I’m afraid they’ll all look the same without any creative differences to keep my pages unified yet unique.  It takes a lot of space to pull out all of my ‘stuff’ to make just one page, etc.   Sound familiar?  I bet you’re in the same boat as me.  But I believe Project Life is going to solve all of those problems for us.  So join my  team now, just to enjoy the demonstrator perks of ordering early and getting a discount.

Can’t wait to get your hands on some new stuff?

Warning: Fun Time Ahead!

Burlap & Blooms WreathThe Burlap & Blooms Wreath Class was so much fun the other night, that I’ve decided to offer another class on Sat., April 12th from 1:00-5:30.   The class will be held at the Gleason Cabinet Co. showroom at 540 Gleason Dr., Moosic, PA.  Space is limited, so don’t delay or you’ll miss out.

That’s my wreath that I made, now proudly gracing my bathroom door!   We made all the flowers and wrapped the wreath in burlap ribbon.

Registration gets you the Burlap & Blooms Wreath Kit (item # 133333) from the Stampin’ Up! Spring catalog, AND secures your seat in the class.  Early bird pricing, thru March 31st, is only $28.00.    Beverages and snacks are provided, too!

Reserve your spot here:

Having doubts that you are not ‘crafty’ enough? Well, this kit is designed with all parts pre-cut so even a novice can produce a beautiful finished piece. At the last class, we had a novice papercrafter, and a 10-year old girl, and both made beautiful finished wreaths!    I provide instruction and help to ensure your project will turn out well, too!

So set aside your doubts, and treat yourself to a fun afternoon filled with new friends & laughter.  I promise you’ll go home with a beautiful finished wreath that you’ll be proud to have grace your home or to give as gift.

Can’t make the class?   You can order the Burlap & Blooms Wreath kit here and make the wreath at home.  Directions are included; all you’ll need is a hot melt glue gun and a silicone mat.

I hope to see you on April 12th!

Paper Hugs,

Nancy

Sale-A-Bration is here!!!!

2014 Sale-A-BrationThe most anticipated sale of the year – Sale-A-Bration is here!  If you’ve been around Stampin’ Up! for a while you know why this is such a long-awaited sale, and most stampers favorite time of the year.  If you are new, then let me tell you that you are in for a treat!

Sale-A-Bration is a promotion that runs from Jan. 28th to March 31st.   It is a special catalog that is published just for this sale, and every item featured in the Sale-A-Bration catalog is FREE with a $50 order!

This year the catalog features 13 exclusive products that are only available FREE with qualifying order.  And there is something for everyone;  you can choose from stamp sets, to embossing folders, to punches, card kits, banner kit, Digital products for MDS, and designer series paper!  If that isn’t enough, there are extra incentives for hostesses, and extra products for those who choose to join Stampin’ Up! and get all that stampin’ goodness plus the perks of being part of the team!

This year the catalog is arranged slightly different than in the past.  The first pages are feature bundles of standard products available for purchase that total $50 or more.  If you order one of these bundles (the smart people at Stampin’ Up! made it easy – they’ve assigned 1 order to get everything in that bundle) than you earn 1 FREE Sale-A-Bration item.  Order 2 bundles, earn 2 FREE Sale-A-Bration items.  Want something else?  No problem, order anything you like, and for every $50 in products, you can choose 1 Sale-A-Bration item.

Want it all?  For $650 in product purchases, you can choose all 13 exclusive Sale-A-Bration items for FREE, PLUS $130 in Stampin’ Rewards dollars to spend any way you wish AND you can get 2 items at half off!  Wowzer!  You can $780 worth of products, AND 13 FREE items, and 2 half-priced items.  No wonder people wait for this sale all year long.   Stock up now on the things you know you’ll need all year long; card stock, envelopes, adhesives, pearls, etc.  Splurge on the things you really want: a Big Shot, framelits dies, ink pad collections, and get rewarded for every $50 you spend.

You can view the catalog by clicking on the image above, or you can start shopping here.

Tell me your favorite item from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  I fell in love with the adorable “See Ya Later” stamp set.  Stop by on Saturday and I’ll show what I made using that set…..

In the meantime, have fun with the new catalog and please know that really appreciate when you choose to shop and stamp with me!   Happy Stampin’,

Nancy
