I CASE’d Myself!

In the Stampin’ UP! world, CASE means to Copy And Share Everything and it’s really just another way of saying we can find inspiration all around us. Sometimes, we just see a project that someone else made and we just love something about it so much it calls us to grab our supplies and make a project too. Maybe it’s the layout, or the colors, or the stamp set, or the way the sentiment is placed, or anything at all.

Well, today I CASE’d myself! Yes, my most popular PIN on Pinterest is a card I made at the beginning of the year for my downline meeting. I needed to make a number of Thank You cards and I wanted to use the Peaceful Moments stamp set which has a nice Thank You. When I grabbed that set, I thought back to that card I made and decided to remake that card, but in a different color.

You can see my original post with that card here, and instructions on how to make it.

It has also become my most popular Pin on Pinterest!

Painted Poppies B&W Birthday

And here is the card I made today:

a simple Thank You Card made with the Peaceful Moments and Painted Poppies stamp set and the Painted Labels and Poppy Moments dies.

Do you see what I did? Same card, different color. I basically kept the card layout the same, except I used Bermuda Bay ink instead of Poppy Parade, and swapped out the sentiment. A couple of Black Rhinestones were added for some bling.

And just like that, I CASE’d myself! Have you ever made a card you liked so much that you CASE’d yourself? I’ve made several cards that I’ve like so much, I made them in several colors. Actually, my last class was a Facebook Live and I made a card in all 5 of the retiring 2018-2020 In Colors. You can watch that class recording on my Facebook page by clicking here.

Let’s Compare Side by Side

So which do you like better? Please leave me a comment with your choice of favorite color. I love to hear from you.

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

“Merry Little Christmas” (#131826-wood, #131829-clear) was a stamp set that went straight to the top of my wish list my first trip thru the 2013 Holiday Catalog.  Why?  Because it’s part of a bundle!  Anytime I see a product bundle, I know that A)  the products will coordinate well together, and B) I’ll save money!

This catalog is full of kits, great for the busy crafter!  This stamp set comes bundled with a card kit for easy card-making without a lot of fuss and includes everything except ink & adhesives (basic supplies you probably have on hand).

For this card, I used a gray, red & green color combo.  There’s a layer of Smoky Slate card stock, then a layer of Real Red followed by a piece of DSP  (retired – I am bound & determined to use as much of my retired DSP as I can!)  .  The image is stamped in Real Red onto Whisper White cardstock.  I then stamped the image again on Whisper White using Gumball Green and snipped out the ‘little’ banner using my paper snips and popped it up on stampin dimensional.  The little bit of grey behind it offset gives it some flair.  The finishing touch is the Gumball Green ribbon.

The next item I had to have were the Expressions Thinlits Dies #132171.  I loved the font and the size of each word.  IMG_2601Check out the spread on pages 10-11 in the catalog for some great ideas with this die.

These two cards were whipped out in minutes!  (Thanks to the Pals for the great tip about using wax paper to help get the cardstock out of the die! – No thanks to my family for leaving an empty roll in the wax paper box in my cabinet and not letting me know we were out!  – But that’s a different story!)

Red Glimmer Paper and Silver Glimmer Paper and punches created the designs.  (The Mosaic Madness punch and a line of mini pearls makes a great ornament, don’t you think?)  Need a quick card that you can mass produce but doesn’t cut corners on cuteness?  These thinlits will get the job done for you!  Another reason I like this set – it spans 3 holidays.  Plus I could see using the Love sentiment for more than just Valentine’s Day.

Happy Birthday, Susan!

Today is my sister’s birthday, and no I won’t tell you how old she is, except to say she is older than me (and always will be!).  Her favorite color is red, always has been, and she have loved clothes ever since we were young.  So I thought it was only fitting to create her a birthday card that was all dressed up in red.

All Dressed Up!

A red polka dress; it was created in flash!  One piece of Summer Smooches DSP # 125409 and one trip through the Big Shot die-cutting & embossing machine with the Dress Up Framelits die # 130101 and my dress was done.  A belt of Whisper White card stock, and a flower punched from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack # 118309 fastened with a 1/8″ mini brad # 122941 was all the embellishing this dress needed.  The sentiment was taken from the Create A Cupcake stamp set # 121982.  The stark Real Red and Whisper White color combo creates such a striking contrast that I left things simple and let the bold colors make the statement for me.
